Jack L. Gehm, 80, De Pere, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 21, 2011. He was born October 2, 1931 to the late Helmuth and Clara (Bahr) Gehm. Jack married Shirley Jansen at St. Mary Catholic Church, Green Bay, on September 29, 1951. She preceded him in death on November 20, 2008. Jack was the owner of Gehm’s Printing Service in De Pere, operating the shop over 40 years. He also assisted his wife, Shirley, with the Savory Shoppe, an antique store which they owned and operated; and they enjoyed going to auctions. Jack was very industrious. He had a great love for woodworking and repairing furniture. He also enjoyed assisting in building of houses. He frequently attended St. Mary Catholic Church, De Pere, with his wife. Jack was a member of De Pere Lions Club for many years, and sponsored youth sports teams in the community. The past few years, he enjoyed riding his scooter, “The Cookie Mobile,” to Piggly Wiggly. Jack is survived by his daughter, Jodie and her children, Katie (Casey) and Ana (Ryan); his daughter-in-law, Angela and her children, Jessica (Michael), Abby (Bill), Jake, and Margaret; great-grandchildren: Hailey, Cooper, Ashley, Jack, and Addison; and sisters: Betty (Cecil) and Geraldine. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley; son, Gary; daughter, Cindy; and brother-in-law, Leon. Visitation will be held at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Monday, October 24, 2011 from 3 to 6 pm. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 6 pm with Rev. John H. Harper officiating.
