Judith C. “Judy” Young, age 94, of Green Bay, WI., and formerly of Black River Falls, WI, Hatfield, WI, and Menomonee Falls, WI, died Thursday, April 27, 2023, at New Perspectives in Green Bay, WI.
Judy was born in Eau Claire, WI on May 25, 1928, to Albert H. and Catherine (Pittard) Emanuel. She was raised in Augusta and graduated from Augusta High School. She received her nursing degree from Luther Hospital School of Nursing.
On August 17, 1952, she married William F. “Bill” Young, at St. John Methodist Church in Augusta in a double wedding with Judy’s brother, Dean Emanuel, and his bride, Lorraine.
Following their marriage, the couple lived in Dollar Bay, MI, for three years before moving to Menomonee Falls, WI.
Judy worked as a registered nurse in a multi-specialty clinic, formerly Medical Associates of Menomonee Falls.
Following retirement, Bill and Judy wintered in Stuart, FL, and spent their summers in Menomonee Falls, WI, and Hatfield, Wi. Judy was Bill’s greatest fan at Menomonee Falls North high school basketball games that Bill coached for many years. She also enjoyed golf, bowling and cross-country skiing. Judy learned the skill of sewing from her mother and taught her daughters how to sew as well. She was a skilled knitter making countless patterned sweaters, slippers, mittens and bunny vests for her grandchildren. Her handmade cinnamon rolls, fudge and bread were delicious.
Judy is survived by her children: Diane (John) Taylor of Green Bay, WI, Patty (Bob) Manier of Madison, WI, and Sue (Ron) Micheal of Hatfield, WI; her grandchildren: Bill (Rose) Young, Thomas Young, Meghan (Adam) Van Iten, Brittany (Matthew) Thome, Lindsay (Antonio) Taylor Valencia, Brendan Taylor, Bob (Lisa) Manier, Emma Manier, Jessica (Jeff) Muth, Dan (Hannah) Nagl, Sarah (Mike) Flynn, Ryan (Samantha) Micheal, and Dylan Micheal; and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Young of Asheville, NC. She is further survived by her 18 great-grandchildren: Andi, William, Jack, Alice, Lucia, Archie, Noah, Cora, Logan, Hazel, Autumn, Clay, Cole, Faith, Harper, Ava, Ainsley, and Audrey. Additional survivors include: her brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Dave and Joan Young of Denver, CO and sister-in-law, Corrine Young of Minneapolis, MN.
Judy has 13 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; son, Bill Jr.; brother, Dean; brothers-in-law, Ed and Sam; and sisters-in-law, Lorrie and Corrine (Maier).
Judy’s family would like to thank the compassionate care providers at New Perspectives, Unity Hospice, and Jon and Shawn Del Hansen (Hope Community Church) for guiding mom to Heaven her way.
A private memorial service with immediate family will be held. Her final resting place will be in Augusta WI.
