Mildred Marie Wegner, 90, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017, at her home at Parkview Estates, Wayside. She was born to William and Ella (Klug) Kasten on February 12, 1927 in Wayside, WI. She was baptized on February 27, 1927 and confirmed on May 4, 1941 at Zion Lutheran Church in Wayside. She graduated from Brillion High School. On October 15, 1947, she married Herman F. Wegner at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Manitowoc, WI. Mildred and Herman farmed in Maribel until their retirement in 1988. She remained in Maribel after her husband's death in 2000, then made her new home at Parkview Estates in 2013. She is survived by 3 sons, Roger (Joan) Wegner of Maribel, Randy Wegner of Maribel, Don Wegner (Laurie Merline-Wegner) of Green Bay, and one daughter, Sandra (Mike) Zirbel of DePere. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Jenny (Pat) Margelofsky of Fond du Lac, Kari (Jeremiah) Falck of Milwaukee, Kelli (Tim) Hawkins of Oconomowoc, Jay Wegner (Andrea Tivers-Wegner) of Oakland, CA, Nathan (Marie) Wegner of Maribel, Sara (Josh) Stewart of De Pere, Bo Wegner (fiance’ Jen) of Green Bay, Chelsea (Kris) Scheider of De Pere, Jordan (Alyssa) Zirbel of De Pere, and Noah Zirbel (fiance' Linsey) of Fond du Lac. Great grandchildren: Louisa Falck, Madaline and Nora Tivers- Wegner, Jonathan Wegner, Owen, Olivia and Evelyn Scheider. Step-grandchildren, Amanda, Erin and Maleah, and step great-grand children, Logan and Zach. Millie is further survived by one sister-in-law, Maydean Kasten of Wayside, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herman, three brothers and one sister-in-law Ervin (June) Kasten, Herbert Kasten and Delmar Kasten; Herman’s siblings, Reinhard (Blondine) Wegner, Ruth (Orville) Ihlenfeld, one grandson, Troy Wegner, and two nieces, Barbara and Christine. Friends and family may call at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, 14311 S. Maribel Rd, Maribel, on Monday, June 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Daniel Cole officiating.
