For more than 86 years, Bernadine “Bernie” Mary Ann Queener lived to serve her Lord God and her family. On Thursday, March 27, 2025, God called her to everlasting life with Jesus and all the saints who passed before her. On May 27, 1938, she was born to the late Ohrend and Amy (Hansen) Pittner in Glenmore, WI. Bernie lived a life dedicated to public service with an abiding appreciation for her family and friends.
After graduating from business college, Bernie began her professional career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, a role that reflected her commitment to public service. She went on to contribute her time and abundant talents to the administrative staff for the Whitefish Bay public school system before joining the United States Postal Service as an employee development specialist. Through each chapter of her career, Bernie brought dedication, excellence and integrity to every task and she was deeply respected and admired by her co-workers, many of whom became life-long friends.
Outside of work, Bernie found joy in sewing, quilting, cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers, Bucks and the Green Bay Packers and playing rounds of golf. She enjoyed most every type of music, especially the dulcet tones of greats like Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis and Ella Fitzgerald. Bernie loved to watch classic films (Cary Grant and John Wayne were her favorites). But it was time spent with family and friends she especially cherished and was the most important part of her life.
Bernie dearly loved and will be sorely missed by her daughters Jacqueline “Jackie” Queener and Pamela (Gabriel “Jerry”) Bucio; her sister Janice Pittner and her brother Arnold Pittner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ohrend and Amy Pittner, and a sister-in-law Edie Pittner.
