Bernice L. Libal, age 94, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 1, 2018. Bernie was born in Dyckesville on September 9, 1924 to the late Joseph and Ella (Nickolai) Ropson. She is a graduate of Green Bay East High School and St. Mary’s School of Nursing. She had a career of 40 years as a registered nurse, retiring as Director of Nursing at Santa Maria Nursing Home. On May 10, 1947 she married Maurice Libal at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dyckesville. She was a long-time member of Prince of Peace Parish in Bellevue. Bernie spent much of her life caring for others.
Survivors include her children: Steven (Joyce) Libal of Green Bay, Mary Libal of Corvallis, OR, Nancy (Carl) Brusky of Boulder Junction, Paul (Laura) Libal of Wilmington, NC and Ann (Mark) Mongin of Appleton; grandchildren: Angela (Mike) Libal, Autumn (Christopher) Libal, Nathan (Deb) Libal, Sarah (Connie) Mc Lellan, Daniel Mc Lellan, Michelle (Belen) Romero, Evelyn Libal, Benjamin Libal, Walter Mongin, Jack Mongin, Emily Mongin and Clara Mongin; great-grandchildren: Owen, Peter, David, Grace, Xander, Arturo, Dakota and Dylan; aunt Ethel Ropson.
In addition to her husband, Maurice, she was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ella Ropson, sisters: Barbara, Beatrice (Donald) Rueckl and Berdine (Joseph) Queoff.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, November 8 from 9-10:45am at Prince of Peace Catholic Parish, 3425 Willow Road, Green Bay. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Bernice at 11:00am. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
