Carol Ann Windey, age 67, of De Pere, passed away Tuesday, June 18 at a local hospital. The daughter of Charles and Mildred (Adams) Scheffen was born September 6, 1945 in Milwaukee. She married Eugene Windey on June 12 1965, and together they shared over 48 years of marriage. Carol was fond of Arabian horses, and enjoyed scrapbooking, crocheting, movies, and anything else that brought out her adventurous personality. She had a way of lighting up the room when she walked in, and was always the life of the party. Carol was never afraid of challenge, and no matter what life threw her way, Carol acted as though she didn’t have personal limits. She treasured her family, and adored all her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Gene; 2 sons: Donald (Sharon) Windey and their children: Steven (Kristin), Scott, Cierra, Sylvana, William, and Faith. David (Charlene) Windey and their children Zachary, and Kylie. Her father, Chuck Scheffen; 3 sisters: Vicki (Dick) Engel, Susie Wogsland and Mary (Mark) Lessuise; a sister-in-law, Jean Kostreva, numerous nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Scheffen and a brother, Jim Scheffen. Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N.
