“Dot” Idella Rosalie Bittner, 84, Rutherfordton, NC, (previously of 4834 Langes Corners Road, Denmark, WI) joined her husband, Lawrence Bittner in heaven, August 26, 2013. Dot was born on May 16, 1929 to Joseph and Minnie (Van Der Steen) Van Den Elzen in the town of Bellevue. Dot married Lawrence Bittner on September 3, 1949 at St Mary’s Catholic Church-Glenmore. Dot worked on the farm, milking cows, Mirro plant in Two Rivers and Austin Straubel Paper Mill until her retirement in 1983. Dot raised Dachshunds and Alaskan Malamutes. Dot and Lawrence frequently traveled to Arizona and ice fishing trips. Dot was an avid Packers Fan. Dot enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, cribbage, macramé, gardening and going ‘for a ride’. Her final ride was to move to North Carolina with goddaughter, Cher Coatney and husband,Charlie. Dot is survived by her sister, Geneva Choate, sisters-in-law, Helena Van Den Elzen and Loretta Van Den Elzen, 7 godchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, Lawrence; sisters, Cecelia, Marie, LaVerne, and Shirley; brothers, Larry, Cliff, Jerry, Carl and Joe. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30 at the Chapel of The Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum (on Bay Settlement Rd). Entombment to follow.
