Elfrieda M. Hansen, 3838 Church View Court, Greenleaf, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 27, at the age of 95. She was born May 14, 1919 in the town of Morrison, Wisconsin, to the late Arthur and Alvina (Boeder) Loppnow. On May 21, 1942 Elfrieda married Albert Kittell. He preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1969. On Jan. 8, 1972 she married Kermit Hansen. He preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1997. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Shirley, and the Immanuel Ladies Aid. Elfrieda was always noted for her embroidered dish towels. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Don and Elaine Kittell; two daughters and son-in-laws, Bonnie and David Lemke, Lila and Greg Roberts; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; two step-children, Sue and Don Steinberger, Betty Mayfield; five step-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren; further survived by one sister-in-law, Elaine Storzer; nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brother-in-laws, Madeline and Norbert Schwahn, Arney Storzer; one step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Donna and Joe Laurent. Friends may call from 10am to 1pm on Thursday, July 31, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Shirley. Funeral service will be held at 1pm on Thursday at the church with Rev. J.C. Eggert officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family. Elfrieda’s family would like to express a very special thank you to the entire wonderful staff at Wayside Parkview Estates and Unity Hospice for the great care given to Mom and for helping us during this time.
