Elton Krueger

Elton O. Krueger, 91, Wrightstown, passed away Thursday, May 03, 2012, at Wayside Parkview Estates. He was born April 2, 1921 in the Town of Rockland, son of the late Adolph and Mathilda (Kersten) Krueger. He married Dorothy Baril on April 15, 1944 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wrightstown, and the couple enjoyed more than 52 years together. She preceded him in death on August 4, 1996. Elton took over the family farm in 1952, farming until 1975. He later did carpentry/cabinetry work in the area until 2000. He was an active member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church,Wrightstown, where he belonged to the choir. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, dartball, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include four children: Daniel Krueger, Montello, WI; Diane (William) Kopplin, DeForest, WI; Lory Krueger, Clearwater, FL; and William Krueger, De Pere; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda (Luci) Groth; daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Krueger (Daniel); brothers and sister, Harold (June), Erna (Albert), Irvin (Leona), and Merlyn (Gloria). Family and friends may call Monday, May 7, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Wrightstown. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at church, with the Rev. Matthew Vik officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home, Wrightstown, is assisting the family.
