Gary Peters, 71, De Pere, passed away on December 31, 2023. He was born on July 18, 1952 to the late David and Delores (Vande Walle) Peters.
On March 18, 1972 he married the love of his life, Laura Gossen.
Before retirement he worked many years at Morning Glory Dairy and after retirement for Green Bay Nursery and Friese-Mier.
Gary left his mark on many people with his joking around. He enjoyed it when they gave it right back to him! As much as he would complain about things he was always there if you needed a helping hand. He supported his children and grandchildren in their adventures.
He enjoyed working with his hands and wood. Loved traveling in which he had met many people that continued to be part of his life. In the summer when the weather was nice he would take his motorcycle or convertible out for a spin. Even after he was diagnosed with cancer he never stopped doing what he loved. You would find him at Friese-Mier in the warehouse or making a delivery of furniture. He also worked the summer for Green Bay Nursery making deliveries of trees, mulch or other items. He definitely was a people person and enjoyed just talking. As the cancer progressed he had to retire from those jobs but continued to do projects at home. He had to make sure that items were taken care of before he went to his next life. His last project was to construct a cedar pole so Laura could hang her plants for the summer and winter decorations. He got it completed with members of the family and a stranger that was passing by, had it installed in late October. It looks beautiful and will be an item that we can all look at and remember Gary.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Laura; children, Amy (Don) Thibodeaux, Barry (Erica) Peters, Christopher Peters; grandchildren Bailey, Abby, Bella, Emmitt and Bevon. His siblings Ken (Sharon) Peters, Tom (June) Peters, Sharon (Dennis) Farrell; in-laws Mark (Cindy) Gossen, Mary Jankowski, Lonnie Gossen, Rodney (Corri) Gossen; nieces, nephews, many friends especially Pam Schlender. Gary’s cuddlier cat Sammie.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Pepper Peters.
