Hollis Orin Eggert

Hollis Orin Eggert, 87, Allouez, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Jack and Engrid Meng Residence of Unity Hospice in De Pere. He was born May 26, 1927 in Green Bay, son of the late Paul and Esther (Dreier) Eggert. Hollis graduated from Green Bay West High School and attended one year of college at UWGB. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII, and married Jean Hochgreve on November 3, 1951 at Grace Lutheran Church in Green Bay. Hollis was a Lieutenant for the Brown County Sheriff’s Department. He was a member of the American Radio Relay League. He was an amateur radio operator with the call letters KG9BC. Hollis was also a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Jean Hochgreve Eggert, Allouez; daughter, Kristin Eggert Leedom (Chris), Saginaw, MI, and their daughters, Lindsey and Jenna; son, Jay Eggert (Amy), Green Bay, and their sons, Joey and Jake; brother, Rodney Eggert (Bonnie) and their children, Tina Eggert Geske (Mark), and Andy Eggert; brother, Darrell Eggert (Sharon) and their children, Tom Eggert (Beth), Jenny Eggert Anderson (Jeff), and Libby Eggert Caradonna (Jim). Hollis was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna Eggert Carney Schlesky. Family and friends may call Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, with the Rev. Larry Lange officiating. Hollis will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Green Bay.
