James "Jim" D. Gerhard

James D. Gerhard, age 79, died November 5th, 2024, in Green Bay WI. 

Jim was born August 27th, 1945, to the late James R. and Loretta Gerhard. He grew up in Green Bay graduating from Premontre High School in 1963. He enjoyed playing golf, baseball, basketball, and watching football. 

Jim followed in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps as an electrician. He was a longtime member of the Local IBEW 158. 

In 1985 he married Sandra Dorn. Jim and Sandi enjoyed their time traveling together, especially their yearly trip to Aruba. He was an avid golfer, playing in the Mid-Vallee Monday Senior League, Tuesday Nights Men League, and Saturday Morning Skins game from 1968 until his passing. He also enjoyed watching endless hours of sporting events his grandchildren played growing up. 

Jim is survived by his wife Sandi, and sons James C. Gerhard; Craig (Kelly) Dorn and children Alexandria and Maxwell (Sydney); Kevin (Lynne) Dorn and children Payton (Zach), Dylan (Lilly), Hunter (Arianna); and his daughter Jodi (Bill Wolske) Van Egeren and her children Austin (Jessica), Dayna (Mitchell), Sydney (Tomas), and Bill’s children Lexy (Austin), Griffin (Grace), and Maddie (Vincent). He was very proud of each of them and all their accomplishments. 

Jim is further survived by his sister Carol (Steve) Austin and children Jessica (James), John (Sara), and Tom (Amanda). Also, his sisters-in-law Marilyn (Ray) Halbach, Sue (Wally) Schultz, and Bobbie (Steve) Ludes and brother-in-law Bill Fleming, along with many nieces and nephews. 

Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation. His ashes will be spread in April 2025, exact date, time, and location to be shared at a later date.
