Jane Vande Velden

December 25, 1956 — September 18, 2021

Jane Vande Velden died on September 18, 2021 after courageously living with ALS for the past 3 ½ years.  Jane was born on Christmas Day, 1956, to Louis and Delores Vande Velden.  She was a graduate of De Pere High School and held degrees in Paralegal Studies and Accounting which she applied to her career with area law and accounting firms, including Baker Tilly and its predecessor firms for the past 28 years. 

Jane is survived by her mother, Delores Vande Velden;  brothers and sisters – Dan (Charlotte) Vande Velden; Peggy (Craig) Thielke; David (Monica) Vande Velden; Diane (Neil) Sweney; Cathy Vande Velden;  nieces and nephews – Chris (Jennifer) Vande Velden, Chad (Carol) Vande Velden, Allison (Matt) Bramschreiber; Nick (Kaitlyn) Thielke; Steven Vande Velden, Marisa (Dan) Witterholt; great nephew and niece – Liam and Aubree Bramschreiber; aunts and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, her nephew Kyle Sweney, and grandparents.

A private memorial service was held with entombment at Allouez Catholic Mausoleum. 

Jane and her family express their gratitude to her caregivers at Unity Hospice-Meng Residence and Woodside Lutheran Home for their kindness and compassion; to ‘Team Jane’ at Baker Tilly for their understanding and support which allowed Jane to continue working until May, 2021, to the ALS Association –Wisconsin Chapter and the Froedtert ALS Clinic Team for their leadership and guidance throughout Jane’s journey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the ALS Association-WI Chapter or Unity Hospice will be appreciated.
