Jerome S. “Kaz” Kacmarynski, 80, De Pere, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born December 26, 1929, in Sobieski, WI to the late Martin and Lucille (Pomprowitz) Kacmarynski. On October 23, 1954, Kaz married Marian Hendricks at St. Mary Catholic Church, De Pere. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Kaz worked at Milprint for many years and also for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. Kaz was active in many sports including, bowling, golf, baseball, football, swimming, and horseshoes. He continued his love for sports by attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. He loved fishing and going to Canada for his yearly fishing trip with his friends. Kaz and Marian enjoyed spending time at the YMCA with their many friends. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Marian; 4 daughters: LuAnn (George) Fabian, Kathy (Bob) Barge, Janice Kacmarynski, and Karen (Randy “Beat”) Szcepanski; grandchildren: Lisa, Kelly, Janan, Tim, Cameron, Miranda, Andrea, and Joe; great-grandsons, Ty and Sawyer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Doris Kacmarynski, Judy Kaz, Bernice Hendricks, Millie (Jack) Walsh, Jim (Carol) Hendricks, and Delores Vernosh and Norman; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Mary; and sisters and brothers: Lorraine (Bill) Robertson, “Party” Marty Kacmarynski, Clem Kaz, and Joyce Kacmarynski. Family and friends may call Friday, September 24, 2010, at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere from 4:00p.m. until 8:00p.m., with a parish prayer service at 7:30p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Community, Pope John the XXIII Circle, off Sportsman Drive, Town of Ledgeview, from 9:30a.m. until 10:15a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church, on Saturday at 10:30a.m. with Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
