De Pere

John “Jack” Broeren, age 94 of De Pere, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. He was born on September 5, 1929, in Neenah to the late Frank and Alice (Johnson) Broeren. After graduating high school from St. Mary’s Menasha, he went to St. John's University in Collegeville MN. Jack and Carole Griesbach were united in marriage on August 28, 1954.

Jack always held his family in high regard, and was an especially devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a man of strong faith, with a kind and gentle disposition and wonderful wit.

He was President of Bay West Paper Co., an active member of the Green Bay Packer Board and a member of the Board of Associated Bank. He and Carole were longtime members of Oneida Country Club, where he loved golfing with his regular foursome. They were also members of Resurrection Catholic Parish in Allouez where they formed life long friendships.

He is survived by his daughters; Carolyn (Patrick) Lorge and Anne Millington, grandchildren; Mac Kenzie Broeren, Jack (Halli) Lorge, Casey Lorge, Taylor and Andrew Millington, great grandsons; Jack, James and Frank and daughter in law, Tina Broeren.

Preceding Jack in death are his parents, his wife, Carole, sons Bo and David and his brother, Richard/Dick (Sue) Broeren.

In keeping with Jack’s wishes, a private family service was held. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, memorials in Jack’s name can be made to Unity Hospice, or in Jack’s words, “Always pass on a kind word and a smile”.

Our family would like to extend a warm thank you to the caregivers from Unity Hospice and Rennes Assisted Living and Residence.
