Lawrence "Larry" Wegner

Lawrence E. “Larry” Wegner, Jr., 75, Denmark, entered eternal life unexpectedly on Friday, February 19, 2010 at Theda Clark in Neenah. He was born September 15, 1934 in Litchfield, MN, son of the late Lawrence Sr. and Esther A. (Eis) Wegner. Larry graduated from Mishicot High School in 1952, and served his country in the United States Navy as Machinist Mate First Class, stationed aboard the USS Mitscher in Boston, MA. It was there he met his loving wife, Lorraine Bilodeau, and later married her on July 23, 1955. He loved Lorraine dearly, and was always there for her. He never left her side for one day, especially after her stroke. Larry worked as a Foreman for Lindback in Boston, and after moving to Wisconsin, went into the family business, Wegner and Sons, Inc., with his dad, brother and sister until his retirement. Larry enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a generous man, and loved spending time with his wife, daughters and grandchildren, and he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, hunting, gardening, playing cards, working in his shop and helping others. Larry was the greatest father ever. Larry was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and Ducks Unlimited. Larry is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 54 years, Lorraine. He is further survived by his loving children and grandchildren; Debbie Wegner-Hohensee, Denmark, and her children: Drew (Jennifer), Matthew and Joshua; Elizabeth “Happy” (Ron) Treml, Milwaukee, and her children: Michael and Valerie; Michelle (special friend- David Malvitz) Wegner, Denmark, and her children: Damon and Mattie; Audrey (Rick) Bratz, St. Nazianz, and her children: Hannah and Heidi and step-daughter, Rachel; and Alison (Rhod) Fields, Appleton, and their children: Jasmine, Quincy, Alexis and Preston. Also survived by his sister and brother: Barbara Jean Wegner, Denmark, and James (Susan) Wegner, Suamico. Family and friends may call Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark, where there will be a Parish Prayer Service at 6:45 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of Mass at All Saints Catholic Church, Denmark. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at church, with Fr. Ralph Merkatoris officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
