Lawrence “Larry” Martin Wohlwend Jr., 71, passed away on Sunday night July 25, 2010. He was born April 18, 1939 in Milwaukee to the late Lawrence and Louise (Bowman) Wohlwend. October 5, 1968 he married Mary Helen Rintelman (Martin). Larry spent 2 years in the Peace Corp in Bolivia when he was a young man. Larry was employed as a mechanic and farmed in the town of Jackson, WI until 1997. He retired from Inland Diesel after 30 years and they moved to Maribel to be close to his children. Along with enjoying his “hobby” farm, he was an avid sportsman, woodworker and belonged to the NEW Woodworkers Guild. Larry also loved traveling with his wife and children. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown. Larry is survived by his wife, Mary Wohlwend; children: Lawrence Martin Wohlwend III (Judy), James(Linda) Rintelman, Mary Jane (Ben Laird)Rintelman, and JoAnne (Steve) Blank; grandchildren: Jodi Rintelman, Jamie (Graham) Rintelman, Michelle Rintelman, Justin Dhein, Nikki (Ryan)DuRussel, Emily (Eric Schafer)Laird, Amy Laird, and Lisa Laird; 3 great-granddaughters, Hanna, Annemie, and Samantha; brother, Fritz (Diane) Wohlwend; sisters, Lois Joyce, Darlene (George) Venci, Sharon Jackson, and Mary (Lewis)Knauer; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Louise Wohlwend; son, Joseph Rintelman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hilary and Catherine Martin; and brothers-in-law, James and John Martin and Raymond Jackson. Family and friends may call Friday, July 30, 2010 from 4:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 County R, Denmark, with a rosary at 7:15p.m. and a service at 7:30p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 406 Jefferson St., West Bend, Wisconsin from 9:00a.m. until 10:15a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Saturday at 10:30a.m. with Rev.
