Loretta Ann Hager

Loretta “Lorie” Ann (Wypyszynski) Hager, 82, of Denmark, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, April 10, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born May 25, 1938 to Jerome and Rose Wypyszynski.  She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Green Bay.  On May 7, 1960, Lorie wed the love of her life, Dennis Hager, at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Eaton.  They made their home and raised their family in Denmark.  She attended Saint James Cooperstown and All Saints Catholic Parish.Lorie spent her career during the 70’s and 80’s as the secretary of Denmark Junior High School.  She was also an active farmer alongside her husband, Dennis, for many years.  She enjoyed every aspect of farm life- from tending the gardens to taking care of all the farm animals, especially her dog, cats, and rooster.Sewing, knitting, cooking, and attending art shows with her daughter were a few of Lorie’s favorite things in life to do.  Family meant everything to her and spending time with her children and grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy.Surviving are her four children: Margaret (Greg) Lucas, Wauwatosa; Mary Hager, Adell, WI; Michael (Angela) Hager, Kewaunee; Melinda Hager, Denmark; six grandchildren: Taylor, Emma, and Andrew Lucas; and Alan, Karina, and Lauren Hager; and sister-in-law, Lily Mae Wypyszynski, Onalaska, WI.She was preceded in death by her parents; her adoring husband, Dennis; her brother, Roger Wypyszynski; two brothers-in-law, Al Hager and Gervase Hager; and sister-in-law Julia Hager.Family and friends may visit at All Saints Catholic Parish, 125 St. Claude St., Denmark, on Thursday, April 15, 2021 beginning at 9:30 am until 10:45 am, with the Mass of Christian Burial  to follow at 11:00 am, Fr. Xavier Amirtham, O. Praem, officiating.  Lorie’s final resting place will be in All Saints Catholic Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Lorie’s honor be made to the American Cancer Society or Unity Hospice.A special thank you is extended to Unity Hospice for the compassionate care Lorie received.
