Lynn Jean Gonwa

Lynn Jean Gonwa , age 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October, 24, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital with her husband by her side. 

She was born on March 11th, 1955 in Sheboygan, to the late Valva (Feiereisen) Rusch and Kenneth Rusch. Lynn grew up in Cedar Grove, WI and married her high school sweetheart, Denis Gonwa on October 29th, 1977. After starting their life together in Port Washington, they moved to De Pere in 1985 and have been together for 47 years. 

Lynn loved living life with Denis. Of their many adventures her favorites include traveling and exploring the world, cheering on the Packers and Badgers with Denis, going to concerts, especially Jimmy Buffett, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Whether cheering for her grandkids on the soccer field, hosting a family gathering, or cooking a favorite family recipe, Lynn was the happiest being around those she loved. 

Lynn was a wonderful friend, gathering regularly for lunch, crafts, and service projects. 

She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and friend anyone could ask for. 

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband Denis, children; Derek (Ashley) Gonwa of De Pere and Ashley Gonwa of Phoenix; 3 grandchildren Miles, Cameron, Ada; she is further survived by her brother Randy (Chris) Rusch, along with many more relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Valva (Feiereisen) Rusch and Kenneth Rusch; her cherished Great Aunt Mert, and Stan Gaszak.

A memorial service celebrating Lynn’s life will be held on Monday November 11th, at First United Methodist Church, 501 Howe Street, Green Bay, Wi. Visitation will begin at 3:00 with a 5:00 service.
