Michael Edward Moenssens fought a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s and on Monday, March 3, lost his battle while surrounded by his girls. Mike was born on May 12, 1947 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Edward and Florence Moenssens. He grew up with his brother, Bob, and they spent a lot of time with their cousins and grandparents who lived next door. This is where his deep-rooted love of family time began. After graduating high school, Mike served four years in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Guantanamo Bay during the Vietnam War. After meeting the love of his life, Kathy Pansier, in the 8th grade they proceeded to get married on July 29, 1972. Together they had three daughters: Missy (Eric) Dudek, Nicole (Brian) Klika and Katie (Scott) Komp. He worked at Proctor and Gamble for 30 years until he retired. He loved nothing more than being surrounded by his four girls, even if that meant spending the day at the mall. He was known to sit in a coffee shop reading his books for hours just happily waiting for his girls. As the family grew, Mike gained three sons-in-law and truly loved them like they were his own sons. Mike was blessed with 8 grandchildren who became his entire world. He was the beloved Papa to Jackson, Sam, Noah, Riley, Bennett, Remy, Mia and Maci. His love of dancing, laughing and enjoying life to the fullest will live on through them. Mike’s legacy is his unconditional love for his bride, children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Florence Moenssens, his brother Robert Moenssens and his in-laws Ray and Helen Pansier.
