Muriel H. Janssen, age 75, of De Pere, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 25, 2013. The daughter of the late Bob and Helen (Liebergen) Murphy was born November 14, 1937 in Green Bay. She graduated from East De Pere High School in 1955. Muriel married Bill Janssen on October 24, 1959 at St. Mary Parish in De Pere and spent her life making a home for her two children, as well as dedicating her time to the family business, Daanen Janssen Inc. She was known for her artwork and painting, enjoyed traveling and genealogy, and was an avid history buff. Many of her trips centered on historical exploration. Spending time with her grandchildren, especially in Door County, was a favorite pastime of hers, in addition to her dog, Peaches, and several other animals during her life. In the last few years, she enjoyed sharing lunch with girlfriends from the class of 1955. Survivors include her husband, Bill, 2 sons: Scott (Kate) Janssen, and Chris (Dennis Williams) Janssen; grandchildren: Glennie, Murphy and Frankie; brothers: Don Murphy, Roger (Jacquie) Murphy; sisters-in-law Joyce Murphy and Mary Jo Janssen; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister: Jean Farley, a brother, Wayne Murphy, and a brother-in-law, Jim Janssen. Family and friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, from 10:00am until the time of service on Friday, March 1. Service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, at the funeral home.
