Nancy Ann Lorrig Borchers

Nancy (Lorrig) Borchers found peace and eternal life on April 1, 2022, at the age of 86.
Nancy was born on September 26, 1935 to Della Wilson in De Pere, WI. Nancy and Bob married in 1958 and began their family in Allouez, where she was the consummate volunteer at her children’s events. She spent her career as a bank teller manager at Associated Bank (State Bank of De Pere) until her retirement to care for Bob. A few years following Bob’s death she met Larry at the YMCA. They married in 2001. Larry and Nancy had the travel bug and spent much time cruising and traveling via RV club. They eventually settled in Weslaco TX in the Rio Grande Valley.

Nancy will be remembered as a loving and kind individual. She carried a sweet sense of humor, and inspired others with her optimistic and positive outlook. She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin and friend. She will be truly missed.

The family is grateful for the compassionate care she received during her short stay at Knapp Hospital on hospice with Elara Caring in Weslaco. We also are grateful for the many friends that checked on and visited with Nancy at the Pine to Palm Resort Park as she struggled with advanced macular degeneration and cancer. Additionally, many thanks to the Cotter Funeral home for their heartfelt assistance.

She was preceded in death by her mother Della Wilson, loving husbands- Bob Lorrig, then Larry Borchers, and her dear sister and brother-in-law Marie and “Nubby” John.

She is survived by her son Dennis Lorrig, daughter Lisa Dow, her grandchildren Clara Ziegler (Mark), Michael Dow and Lindsay Dow; sister-in-law Judith Lorrig. She is further survived by Larry’s children and grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and her special friend and “household assistant” Fanny.

Our family will greet friends and relatives on Saturday, June 4 from 9:30am until 10:45am at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr., Allouez. A service honoring Nancy will take place at 11:00am with Rev. Tom Reynebeau officiating. Interment in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
