Sara Mary Danz, 48, of De Pere, Wisconsin, passed away in her home on Thursday October 10th after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma.

Sara was a Christmas baby born in 1975 to Ron and Judy (Rodgers) Georgeson in Green Bay. After Sara graduated from Lincoln Highschool in 1994, she went on to study Biology and Environmental Science at UWGB. After graduating with a degree in Biology and Environmental Science she married her husband Thomas Danz, and she joined the United States Coast Guard. They moved to Portland, Oregon where she worked at a small boat station helping people along the rivers. Sara’s love for animals also brought her to work at the Oregon Zoo and later worked in water conservation for the city of Tigard, Oregon.

After their son Trenton (21) was born, she and Thomas moved back to Wisconsin where she worked in various leadership roles and advocate roles at United Healthcare. Their daughter Natalie (18) was born a few years later.

Sara was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2018 and breast cancer in 2021 and with Glioblastoma in 2023. Sara turned these challenges into a way to help others and she became a Cancer and Multiple Sclerosis advocate with her YouTube channel Sara’s Living with MS. Her videos had thousands of views helping, inspiring, and lifting the spirits of countless numbers of people.

Sara is survived by her husband of 26 years Thomas Danz and their children Trenton, Green Bay, WI. and Natalie who lives at Home. Thomas’ daughter Brittney McCarthy and her two children MJ and Mackenzie, Pulaski, WI. Her mother, Judith Roger, Green Bay, WI. and her father Ronald Georgeson (Paula) Monroe, WI. Her brother Jeffrey Georgeson (Wendy) Fruitland Park, FL., her sister Julie Hess (Tom) Cottage Grove, WI., her sister Jodi Rabitoy (Chad), Taiwan, stepsisters Melanie White (Bill) Evansville, WI and Megan White, Evansville, WI. 

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Richard and Maryann Georgeson (Oshkosh, WI), her uncle Rick Georgeson (Kathy) (Fort Myers, FL), Mother-in-law Susan Vanness (Green Bay), Father-in-law James Danz (Green Bay), and Brother-in-law Gene Engelke Jr. (Madison).

Family and friends may visit beginning at 11 am on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Avenue, De Pere. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The National MS Society or Glioblastoma Foundation, these are organizations Sara felt strongly about.
