Theodore “Ted” J. Sterletske, 80, Denmark, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 at a local hospital. He was born March 18, 1933 in Denmark, WI, son of the late Peter and Katherine (Wozniak) Sterletske. Ted served his country in the United States Army. He married Mary Pennings, and she preceded him in death in 2002. Ted farmed and later worked at Wagner Implement. Ted, along with his son, Marty, owned and operated Sterletske Repair where they fixed farm machinery. He took great care of his lawn and he enjoyed flowers and gardening. Ted belonged to the Denmark American Legion and St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown. He is survived by his two children: Martin “Marty” (Rebecca) Sterletske, Maribel, and Debra Ray, Chilton; two grandchildren, Jake and Liza; sister, Isabelle Sterletske, Denmark; sister-in-law, Oramae Sterletske, King, WI; aunt, Leona Woziak, Denmark; and many nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Chevy; and five siblings: Raymond, Marie, Alice, Lawrence and Martin. Family and friends may call Monday, December 30, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark, where there will be a Parish Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the procession leaves for St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at church, with Fr. Ron Colombo officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
