Vida Hansen-Jorgensen

Vida Hansen-Jorgensen, age 99, of Denmark, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 21, 2019. She was born February 1, 1920 the daughter of the late Andrew and Agnes (Christensen) Nelsen.
Vida graduated from Denmark High in 1937. She married Norman Hansen January 6, 1938. Norman passed away in 1979. Together, they raised six loving and caring children that kept her very busy. In 1991 Vida married Lester Jorgensen. Her children and grandchildren meant everything to her. She was all about family.
Vida was a hard worker and held various jobs throughout the years to help support her family. After raising her children she worked at Brown County Publishing for 20 plus years. She was employed there until her retirement at 70 years of age. Vida was the oldest lifetime member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Her memory was amazing; she never forgot a thing. Most will say Vida was a “spicy” woman. She will be dearly missed by her family.
Vida is survived by her children; Keith (Carol) Hansen, Neil (Karen) Hansen, Darrel (Kay) Hansen, Julie Kuchenbecker, and Meryl (Glen) Parizek; 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Vida was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husbands, Norman Hansen and Lester Jorgensen; her oldest daughter and best friend, Pauline Schlies; sons in law Don Kuchenbecker and Harris Schlies; 6 sisters and many extended family members. Vida’s family is certain she is dancing a few polkas and playing Sheepshead with her family and friends that have gone on before her.
Family and friends may visit at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 435 Wisconsin Avenue, Denmark, on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Funeral Service for Vida will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Andrew D. Zoerb officiating. Cotter Funeral Home and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
