William J. Jenkel, 91, Green Bay, Wis., a loving husband and father, died Jan. 20. 2018, at Bellin Hospital. He was born Jan. 17, 1927, in Allouez. William was the son of the late Alvin W. and Mae (Landry) Jenkel. Bill was one of the original Allouez kids. He graduated from East Green Bay High School, attended UWGB and graduated from Business College in 1951 with a degree in accounting. Bill was a pharmaceutical and hospital supply salesman for 37 years. He served in the U.S. Air Corps in the South Pacific and Peking, China until December 1946. Bill was a member of the retired Pharmaceutical (NEW) Specialist Friday Breakfast Club, local VFW Post 2037, Legion Post # 11 and Faith Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette (Sweet); three children, William Scott (Kim) Jenkel, Susan R. Jenkel and Jennifer (Brent) Kaczmarek; five grandchildren, Beau, Adriane, Nora (Lee) Berken, Graham (Brook), Leah (Josh); five great-grandchilden: Julian, Winnie, Finley, Marlee, Olive; and a sister-in-law, Betty Jenkel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Mae Jenkel; brothers, Alvin W. and Harold Lee. Family and friends may call at Faith Lutheran Church, 2335 S Webster Ave, Green Bay, on Thursday, January 25, from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am with Rev. Joshua Errer officiating. Burial in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family Donations may be made in Bill’s name to Faith Lutheran Church in Green Bay. Our family would like to extend our thanks to the caregivers on the 8th floor at Bellin Hospital and nurses of Unity Hospice.
