Eleanor Roosevelt got it right when she said, “Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends leave footprints on your heart." And for many people, those footprints are left behind by their beloved pets.
At Cotter Funeral Home, we agree that pets are an important part of the family. And when we lose them, the loss is painful and the grieving process very real. We now offer pet care services to help you memorialize your special companion.
Based on your family’s wishes, you are able to watch/attend the cremation in our comfortable lounge when you choose individual cremation for a small additional fee. Please note the maximum weight we can accommodate is 300lbs. If your pet is larger than 300lbs, please call us for referral information.
We are able to come to your home or veterinary clinic to take your pet into our care. Fees for this service range from $0 for a veterinary pick up to $350 for a private home transfer after hours. You may bring your pet to us during our normal business hours at no charge, or we will meet you after hours for a $150 fee.
We offer a full selection of pet caskets, urns, custom jewelry, and other personalization options. We are happy to guide you through the selection process as well with the placement of your pet’s remains. We offer digital catalogs, or you can call or email for more information.
Our Standard selection can be viewed here: COTTER PET CATALOG.
If burial is your preference, we offer caskets from simple, corrugated cardboard to fully sealed caskets that prevent the intrusion of exterior elements. You may bury on your own private property, or we can refer you to local pet cemeteries.
As Helen Keller noted, “What we have enjoyed, we can never lose...all that we love deeply becomes a part of us.”
We would be honored to honor your pet’s life with you. For more information, please contact us.
Circle of Friends+ provides you with resources on grief support and settling affairs, sent to you via text and email.
